Yes. The services listed here are free, impartial and confidential. You never have to pay a company for debt advice — charities and government-backed services give the same help at no cost. Be wary of any firm that charges an upfront fee to "manage" your debt.

Speaking to a debt-advice service does not affect your credit score. Some solutions they might discuss (such as a Debt Management Plan) can appear on your file, but they will explain any impact clearly before you decide anything.
